
Position: Shuttle Bus Driver
Department: Travel and Tourism
Reports to: Travel and Tourism Manager
Job Summary:Must posses the desire to learn and provide excellent guest service.
Under the general supervision of the Travel & Tourism Coordinator/ Manager, is responsible for providing customers with superior, friendly, and efficient service during the shuttle ride. The shuttle bus driver transports Santa Ysabel Casino guests to and from the casino in a safe and timely manner. Establish and maintain clear communications with Santa Ysabel Casino staff and management team to ensure a consistent, superior level of guest service.Duties and Responsibilities: (Specific areas of responsibility included but not limited to.)
1. Operates casino bus on assigned routes to transport casino customers to and from the casino and designated pick up and drop off locations.
2. Greets customers as they board and depart the bus.
3. Assists customers on and off the bus.
4. Keeps bus interior clean.
5. Make frequent announcements about Santa Ysabel Casino promotions/events.
6. Conducts proper daily pre-trip inspections of the bus.
7. Provide safe, clean and comfortable transportation.
8. Ensure that the bus is mechanically sound and that all required preventative and scheduled maintenance has been performed.
9. Obey traffic regulations, use defensive driving skills and drive with seatbelts fastened.
10. Operate radio in a professional manner using ten codes to keep base and other buses informed of traffic and location status.
11. Inspect bus for damage and ensure that all equipment is in working order.
12. Inform manager of any maintenance and/or safety hazards.
13. Follow route and bus spacing as required by location busing standards.
14. Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned or directed by Management.
15. Must immediately report any change in the status of his/her driver's license to the Department Head and Human Resources office.
16. Ability to relate well with the public.
17. Ability to operate an automatic and manual transmission.
18. Knowledge of local routes, streets/roads in the local community.
19. Must be available to work any shift.
20. Ability to obtain a gaming license.
21. Ability to communicate in both verbal and written format.
22. Maintain bus- ensure all service logs are properly completed; shuttle has a full fuel tank and maintain cleanliness in the shuttle each day.
Mandatory Requirements:1. 5 years of experience as a Class B Driver (OR Commercial Driver).
2. High School Diploma or G.E.D. or an equivalent of education and work-related experience.
3. Minimum of 5 years experience preferred.
4. Must be at least 21 years of age, valid driver's license with Class B Endorsement or commercial driver's license required with clean MVR. License type dependent on location requirements. Must maintain a good driving record.
5. Must have the ability to safely operate a shuttle bus.
6. Good customer service and communication skills required.
7. Ability to comply with all uniform and appearance requirements.
8. Shuttle Bus Vehicle knowledge.
9. Ability to lift, bend, turn, stoop and pick up luggage and other items weighing between 25 and 60 pounds. Work in adverse weather conditions. Sit and stand for prolonged periods of time.
10. No cell phones while driving.
