Lost and Found Abbey Ale is modeled after the great Trappist and Monastic beers that inspired the founding of Lost Abbey Brewery. It is a richly deep garnet colored ale created from a blend of Domestic and imported malts. Malts, raisins and a fantastic yeast strain working in harmony produce a beer of amazing complexity and depth.

Moderate roasted malt/grain flavors suggest unsweetened chocolate, cocoa and strong coffee. A slightly burnt currant and raisin is evident. Fruity esters are low to intense and can take on a dark fruit character depending on temperature and glassware. Malt backbone is balanced and supportive to rich and barley wine-like and shows some supporting caramel, bready and toasty flavors. Alcohol strength is evident, but not hot, sharp or solvent.
